Privacy Policy - the basics

Integrated Management brings together the principles of good administration, clear accountability, and continuous improvement. It ensures that Boards and senior teams have visibility across all domains, that risks are managed consistently, and that decisions are based on reliable information. SCM Limited Compliance’s team has significant experience working with primary care, community health services, and  Local Government.

We understand how to translate governance frameworks into day-to-day practice. Our role is not to produce a policy manual that sits on a shelf – it is to design a framework that becomes part of how your organisation operates and learns.  SCM Limited Compliance helps tailor the framework so that it works for our clients' environment.

Having said that, a privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages the data of its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation of the mechanisms the website is implementing to protect privacy.

Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations regarding what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you comply with the relevant legislation for your activities and location.

What to include in the Privacy Policy

A good Administrative framework is only effective if it generates reliable assurance.  We (SCM Limited) link strategic objectives to risks, controls, and sources of assurance,

We implement assurance maps that show how evidence is gathered across each domain, from teams to management and Board level.

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors and customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much, much more.
